Introduction
|
 The introduction of the model year 2000 Honda S2000 roadster marked a seminal event in the modern history of our favored marque. A return to RWD, Honda's first new convertible in ages, and class defining performance and value. Since that MY00 introduction, the S2000 has been tweaked and massaged here and there (most notably with a glass rear window replacing the original plastic), but the basic DNA of the car has remained unchanged. Quick reflexes, a racecar-like powertrain and a relative dearth of creature comforts were the order of the day.
For 2004, Honda makes the biggest changes yet seen in its flagship roadster. An 8% bigger engine (2157cc), different gear ratios, a significant revamping of the suspension, improvements in interior space and features and the most dramatic styling alterations the S2000 has seen since its inception.
