Didn't know that, but just googled the pics...bad move on their part. Infiniti has it too (on new QX) and didn't like it there either.

The "dual screen mess" has really been overblown. The concept of having a large center navigation screen under a hood with a center console controller was first introduced on the Mercedes S Class and BMW 7 Series a generation or so ago. We all know Honda often looks to the German luxury brands for some inspiration. Honda made the audio controls a touch screen. No big deal.

It's not like Honda went out and created a crazy new interface for displaying navigation and infotainment. Over time, they did throw in a bunch of stuff into the touch screen (climate, etc.) that had a negative impact on usability. Other brands were doing the same.

The new Odyssey and Accord have gotten pretty good reviews for the new generation of infotainment. Looks like the new RDX infotainment will be OK, as well.

"Enhanced" or not, it still has that damned 9-speed transmission. I guess changing to the 10-speed was more than they wanted to do for a MMC----.

They switched from 6 gears to 9 right after this generation's first year. It is amazing how they are so reluctant to move to the 10 speed transmission given their eagerness to move to the 9 speed.

Audi like a lot of companies are going dual screen but those screens are high resolution and offer lots of customization. They will be costly to replace though if they fail. The issue with Acura attempt was the screens were redundant, laggy , poor resolution and cheapened the interiors. I rather they stick with one high resolution screen and return to buttons for HVAC etc. Acura can say they were one of the first with dual screens, but the technology was half baked and another step backwards for Acura. FWIW, Infiniti is also getting knocked in reviews for poor resolution and their dual screen.

And their interiors suck now, they used to be class leaders, now they are at the back and needlessly complicated.

The light colored wood trim is a huge improvement, the brown leather looks good. While I am still no fan of the RLX I do admit the interior enhancements with the light colored wood trim and brown leather helped out immensely and it is understandable why they say a uptick in sales which I think is because of that.

Still don't understand why they didn't at least give the MDX refresh a 10hp boost to get it to a nice round 300hp number.

This vehicle is very sharp and I want to want one to replace our '11; however, here are two things that will keep me from owning one of these. First is the 9AT with its quirky operation (though I understand it's not horrible at this point). Second is the interior, there's no way I'm going to get the flawed and dated dual touch screen when I know the RDX' superior interface, design, and overall quality is out there and coming to other models.
