The very first production 2017 NSX will be auctioned off this evening at Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation and Camp Southern Ground. The approximate time of the auction is 7:30PM MST, and the auction is being aired live on Velocity Network (ch. 281 on DirecTV, ch. 246 on Dish Network)

Lot #3007 - Created to bring a new experience to the supercar segment, the next-generation Acura NSX challenges conventional beliefs about supercars, much as the first generation did a quarter-century ago. Combining cutting-edge and world-first technologies, the 2017 NSX breaks the mold through a first-of-its-kind Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel-Drive power unit, a multi-material body/frame structure, advanced aerodynamics and a cockpit that supports performance driving on every level without skimping on comfort. The power unit achieves 573 total system horsepower and is comprised of a bespoke twin-turbocharged, dry-sump V6 engine coupled to a lightning-quick 9-speed dual-clutch transmission and three-motor Sport Hybrid system. Acceleration from 0-60 takes about three seconds and top speed exceeds 190 mph. The NSX's electric motors enhance all aspects of dynamic performance - acceleration, cornering and braking - by providing instant thrust, enhanced deceleration when needed, and true torque vectoring that uniquely provides the NSX with "direct yaw" control. Coupled to an ultra-rigid aluminum space frame, guided by state-of-the art suspension, steering and brakes, and driven by its hyper-responsive twin-turbo V6 hybrid power unit, the 2017 NSX boasts instant acceleration, super-precise steering and a relentless grip on the road - all available without its driver breaking a sweat. Marrying this advanced and electrified new expression of Acura performance with timeless elements of NSX design, including innovative body construction and superior cabin ergonomics, the next-generation NSX faithfully translates the inputs of the driver with incredible fidelity and virtually zero delay. The result is a new supercar paradigm, one that only Acura could create.
