SPIED IN EUROPE! Civic Type R refresh

We've just received these photos from CarPix.
Following is the text that accompanied the photos. After briefly reviewing the photos, it does appear to be a fairly minor refresh. It would be interesting to see if there are grille updates designed to improve the airflow to the engine for cooling purposes, as we and others have encountered some overheating problems on certain circuits with high ambient temps.
Note the smaller rear wing on the red one at the back end of the photo set.
It looks like Honda is working on a facelift for the Civic Type R!
We spotted this prototype while testing on the roads around the Nürburgring today with camouflaged bumpers.
It looks like the front bumper will get some new designed air intakes and new DRL’s and we also suspect some changes to the grille.
At the back we also notice changes at the bumper.
At this point we have no information about engine changes or possible more power but we are scanning the net for rumours. |
