Acura Confirms return of Integra nameplate

Following years of dropping subtle hints indicating that something was in the works, Acura has confirmed plans to bring back the Integra nameplate. We have been directly lobbying for this any time we had the chance to sit down with Acura VP Jon Ikeda, so this is refreshing news. All that we know about the Integra at this point is that it is returning in 2022, but it would probably be safe to assume that it will be heavily related to the 11th generation Civic architecture. More details are promised closer to the release date. It's unfortunate and a little bit ironic that the Integra is returning as the "new" NSX is retiring.

A Legend Returns: New Acura Integra Coming for a New Generation


August 13, 2021 — MONTEREY, Calif.
Acura today announced the return of the Integra during its annual appearance at Monterey Car Week. The legendary nameplate, one of two models in the original product lineup when Acura launched on March 27, 1986, will rejoin the performance brand’s product portfolio as a new compact premium entrant next year.

“The Integra is back,” said Jon Ikeda Vice President and Acura Brand Officer. “I’m thrilled to say Integra is returning to the Acura lineup with the same fun-to-drive spirit and DNA of the original, fulfilling our commitment to Precision Crafted Performance in every way – design, performance and the overall driving experience.”

More details about the new Acura Integra will be available closer to its 2022 introduction.
