Honda engines scored two victories during Sunday's race at Motegi. Philippe & Lyons won the GT 500 class in their Takata Dome-Honda NS-X after a McLaren F1 won its first pole position in the series. Shibahara & Mitsuyama won the GT 300 class in the rejuvinated Vemac 320R featuring a NS-X engine.

In the points races, 2001 champions Takeuchi & Tachikawa from the Cerumo Toyota Supra team continue to lead in GT 500. Honda driver Mitsusada made up some ground this weekend finishing a superb second to the Takata team. The always quick in practice Vemac team hoped from outside the top 10 up to 5th in GT 300 points. Yamano & Yanagida in the Unisia Jecs Nissan Silvia continue to lead in that class.

Top three in GT 500:

1. S.Philippe / R.Lyons - Takata Dome- Honda NS-X
2. H.Kato / H.Mitsusada - Raybrig Honda NS-X
3. N.Hattori / E.Tajima - Yellow Corn McLaren GTR

Top three in GT 300:

1. S.Shibahara / S.Mitsuyama - Vemac 320R
2. K.Kobayashi / T.Tanigawa - Cusco Subaru Impreza
3. A.Yogo / K.Nishizawa - Taisan Advan 911 GT3R
