Normally this wouldn't qualify as a full-on news item unless maybe there was a new set of spy shots to go along with it, but the Honda and Acura news has been pretty slow lately (and where are the spyshots?), so I thought I'd pass along some info we received last week.
The information suggests that the upcoming CrossTour and ZDX will share a platform, and with the ZDX introduction not happening until around November of this year, the CrossTour's introduction won't come until around April of 2010. The CrossTour should make its auto show debut at either the LA or Detroit auto show, and contrary to the spyshots of the mules that we've seen, it has been said that it will bear little resemblance to the Accord.
And finally, the plant in Alliston is said to already be tooled up and pretty much ready to start spitting out ZDX's and CrossTours when necessary.
UPDATE: we have heard from a handful of folks on the dealer side that they feel this news is inaccurate and that they are anticipating a fall launch for the CrossTour. For what it's worth, the latest info that's been given to dealers is that the CrossTour is scheduled for a November 2009 launch, but that was given to them almost a month ago, so it's possible that things have changed. I will try to track this down some more.
