The latest issue of Autoweek reports that the upcoming replacement for the RL sedan will pack a 300hp V6 and all-wheel drive, citing conversations with 8 different Acura dealer sources who are saying that Acura division has revealed this information to them.
They are also mentioning the possibility of a hybrid gasoline-electric drivetrain, citing reports from several dealers and industry analysts with supposed connections to Acura suppliers and company insiders.
All of these things have been mentioned in the past, and in fact, the specifics are virtually identical to much older reports. The question is whether this news is based upon recycled rumors or perhaps the early rumors were indeed very close to fact. It's certainly a very logical progression, though it would seem that there would be more than a 30hp step between the base TL and RL models, especially if the RL will in fact benefit from a hybrid powertrain.
